        Description

The Seiko HFL002P1 (also referenced as HFL002) is a legendary, retro-futuristic Japanese digital quartz timepiece from Seiko’s Conceptual Rotocall Collection. Recognized globally among space history enthusiasts, digital horology collectors, and tool-watch purists by its iconic collection nicknames—the "Rotocall", "Astronaut Reissue", or "A829 Reissue"—this 37mm watch is a modern faithful reissue of the famous 1982 Seiko A829 digital model chosen and worn by NASA astronauts during 1980s Space Shuttle missions. It pairs a solid hexagonal stainless steel case with an interactive bidirectional 8-facet rotating bezel mode-selector, a high-contrast digital LCD display with LED backlighting, multi-function digital utility, a 100-meter water resistance rating, a Hardlex crystal, and an integrated solid five-row stainless steel bracelet. Engineered for space history lovers, tech enthusiasts, and daily wearers, it bridges 1980s space-age innovation with sleek modern wrist comfort.  The defining visual and tactile highlight of this HFL002P1 reference is its distinctive 8-faceted, bidirectional rotating bezel. Instead of pressing tiny push-buttons, twisting the octagonal bezel allows the wearer to physically switch through functions—including chronograph, countdown timer, dual time, and alarm modes. Set beneath a durable Hardlex crystal, the digital LCD display features clear multi-segment digits, function mode indicators along the perimeter, and an integrated LED backlight for instant legibility in pitch-black conditions. The harmonic interplay between the brushed hexagonal stainless steel casing, tactile rotary bezel, clear LCD screen, and lustrous steel bracelet delivers an authentic retro-cool statement on the wrist. Beneath its space-heritage exterior, the watch is driven by Seiko's advanced in-house Caliber A824 digital quartz movement. Operating with extreme precision within ±15 seconds per month, this digital engine provides a long 3-year battery life (powered by a CR2016 battery cell). It packs a complete suite of professional timing functions, including a 1/100th-second chronograph, countdown timer, dual time zone tracking, daily alarm, single alarm, tally counter, and a battery warning indicator.  The case features compact, retro-authentic proportions, measuring 37.0mm in case width by 43.5mm in lug-to-lug length with an ultra-slim profile thickness of just 10.6mm, offering a light, planted, and comfortable feel on all wrist sizes. Exceptional dial protection is guaranteed by a flat Hardlex mineral crystal. Engineered for active daily wear and aquatic exposure, the solid stainless steel case incorporates a solid screw-down caseback, achieving a certified 100-meter (10 bar / 330 ft) water resistance rating suitable for daily wear, rain, swimming, and snorkeling. The timepiece comes completed on an integrated five-row stainless steel link bracelet, secured by a three-fold deployment clasp with a double push-button safety release.
